Never played #1 and have no urge to play #2. Space fantasy just doesn't interest me. I hope it is a good game for those who do play.

Friend will most likely buy it the first day. So, I'll be over there giving it a try... when he takes bathroom breaks lol.
But seriously, I'll give it a try at his place before I buy. Looks good from what I've seen so far though.

Really not trying to start trouble, but its apparent you haven't played #1. It's not about whether or not the game is a "space fantasy" its more of the way it plays. Its an RTS game, if you like RTS games, then SC is the golden standard. If you don't enjoy RTS games in general, you probably won't like any SC game, not because its a "space fantasy" game.

Personally I love RTS games and will be buying it within the week it comes out. My nephew even managed to win some money in a SC tournament a long time ago.

To me it is about the theme of a game, if I am not interested in the theme it doesn't matter what type of game it is, I won't be buying it. As I said previously I hope it is a good game for those who do purchase it.

Playing the beta I can admit that it's really good fun, and it scales very well while looking good. The main gripe I have is the same one I had with the original game. The scale of some units is terrible, and Zerg is still just a rush monster. Anyone that plays Zerg hits you within a minute, which makes it difficult for races like Protoss to survive early on. It's still loads of fun though. Unlike other developers that change up their formula too much (supreme commander 2), Starcraft 2 is the exact same game you knew before, with added units and better graphics.
